How many repair will I get out of each UFIXIT DiY Windscreen Repair KitTM ?
On average each kit will fix 3-4 different damages. This will all depend on how much resin is used per repair. There is enough resin to fix up to approximately a 30cm long crack.
How long does the resin in the UFIXIT DiY Windscreen Repair KitTM last?
The repair in the windscreen is permanent, the resin in the bottle will last up to 5 years opened or unopened. You can store the kits in your car as the resin is not affected by temperature, so the extreme temperatures reached inside you vehicle will have no effect on the resin.
Is UFIXIT DiY Windscreen Repair KitTM a temporary repair?
No, this is a permanent. The resin once set is stronger than the glass so it will stop the damage from spreading and restoring your windscreen to its original strength. This is a DiY version of what you would see the professional windscreen repairers use.

Will you be able to see the damage after using UFIXIT DiY Windscreen Repair KitTM?
If you have removed all of the air from the damage, (usually looks like a dark colouring in the glass). You should not be able to see the damage in the screen any more, as the resin has the same opaque and refractive value as the glass. You may be left with a slight white mark where the impact point was.
How soon after a damage occurs do I need to use UFIXIT DiY Windscreen Repair KitTM?
The sooner you get to any type of windscreen damage the better, to stop it from getting larger. Any damage, no matter how old, can be fixed. Even if there is contamination from dirt and dust, a repair can be completed. Thinking about the size of the dirt particles that you would get in your damage you will struggle to see them once the repair is completed, but it will strengthen your screen and stop the damage from spreading.
Can I fix a Crack with UFIXIT DiY Windscreen Repair KitTM?
Yes, there is enough resin in each kit to fix up to approximately a 30cm long crack. Once the repair is complete it will stop the crack from spreading any further.
Will UFIXIT DiY Windscreen Repair KitTM work on my windscreen?
Yes, all modern cars produced since the 1970's have laminated glass as there windscreen. UFIXIT DiY Windscreen Repair KitTM will fix any laminated screen, even if it has sensors in it as some of the most modern cars do. Doing a repair will not affect the sensors.
Will UFIXIT DiY Windscreen Repair KitTM work on any glass?
NO, it is true that UFIXIT DiY Windscreen Repair KitTM will bond any glass together. BUT you need a number of factors to be evident for a successful repair. UFIXIT DiY Windscreen Repair Kit™ is designed for laminated glass, due to the strength of having 2 lavers of glass it is able to be manipulated to get the resin to penetrate into the damage. On a single sheet of glass, this manipulation would generally shatter the glass. UV light (sunlight) is also requires as a final stage of the repair process, on anything other than a windscreen this may not be possible.
How long does a normal UFIXIT DiY Windscreen Repair take?
Most repairs will take between 30mins to 1hr. Some may take as little as 20mins, but the whole key to a good repair is not to cure the resin in the sunlight until all of the dark colour (air) is gone from the damage. The applicator can be left on a damaged area for as long as it takes to fix, it is possible to leave the applicator on overnight if needed, as the resin will never harden without the curing strip and UV light (sunlight).
How do I clean up the UFIXIT DiY Windscreen Repair KitTM applicator after use?
The easiest method for cleaning the applicator is to screw the plunger (pressure driver) all of the way into the resin chamber forcing as much resin as possible out of the rubber mouth. Wipe down the outside of the applicator with a clean cloth and store all the pieces of the UFIXIT DiY Windscreen Repair Kit™ together. The resin bottle will last up to 5 years once opened, and any resin left in the applicator will never harden, as it needs UV light and the curing strip to harden the resin. The applicator may still have some resin in it when stored, this will still be there when you come to use the applicator next time.
Can I get a bottle of UFIXIT DiY Windscreen Repair resin separately?
No. At this stage it is not economical to get the resin made separately, due to the volumes of kits we are getting produced it is cheaper to get them made, then it is to get the resin packaged separately. We are looking into getting this fixed in the near future.
